WRAP is a climate action NGO working around the globe to tackle the causes of the climate crisis and give the planet a sustainable future. WRAP’s expert-led textiles initiatives are accelerating the clothing and textiles industry’s move to a sustainable, circular economic system including Textiles 2030 in the UK and the global Textiles Action Network.

WRAP’s Textiles 2030 is a decade-long initiative dedicated to collecting data for measuring and disseminating to ensure outcomes are upheld and accelerated. In the UK 336,000¹ tonnes of clothing goes to landfill or incineration every year. WRAP’s research indicates that the reuse and recycling of textiles could contribute to up to 12%² of the 50% reduction in carbon footprint that is needed by 2030 to maintain a 1.5 degree level of global warming.

The Circular Textiles Foundation addresses this problem by showing designers how to design for recycling, and gives recyclers a direct link to brands that want their clothing recycled at end of life. WRAP and the Circular Textiles Foundation’s affliation represents an opportunity to significantly accelerate the uptake of circularity across the textiles industry through sharing data, knowlegde, research and disseminated learnings and outcomes to a wider audience.
